When I think about exactly what was on my mind one

When I think about exactly what was on my mind one year ago when I took this photo, I thank God for stepping in and helping me to find my footing.
I was forced out from my comfort zone, from a place I thought I would probably retire from because when I asked for a raise, I was denied despite the long hours and dedication I put into that place. To then find myself in a toxic environment where I would sit in my car up until the very last minute in the morning debating whether I should drive back home. I questioned whether teaching was for me. I questioned whether I should continue to work in my own community where I found that I wasn't welcomed by my own people. I questioned whether I made a mistake and should have stayed in a place that I wasn't valued because I enjoyed being there and my students and colleagues became my extended family.
I prayed so hard and I am so grateful that God has guided me out of the storm. I'm in a better space emotionally, mentally and physically.

I've seen first-hand why the teacher turnover rate in education is so high. Without the right support the job can feel like a battle field.

Looking at this picture I am reminded that I'm so blessed. I asked he answered.
